Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner

Essential Duties: |

- Patient Care
- Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and patient histories
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses
- Develop and implement treatment plans, including prescribing medications as appropriate
- Perform and interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-rays
- Provide preventive care, including immunizations, screenings, and health counseling
- Manage chronic conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and asthma
- Collaboration
- Work closely with supervising physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Coordinate with specialists and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.
- Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Patient Education
- Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, preventive care, and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Provide counseling on diet, exercise, and other lifestyle changes to promote wellness and manage chronic conditions.
- Administrative Duties
- Document patient encounters, histories, treatment plans, and progress notes in electronic medical records (EMR) accurately and timely.
- Assist in the development and implementation of patient care policies and procedures.
- Participate in continuing education to maintain licensure and stay current with medical practices.

Education and/or Work Experience: |
---|
- Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current state licensure as a Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner.
- Must have a current DEA registration
- BLS/ACLS certification required.
- Experience:
- Previous experience in family medicine or primary care preferred.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Must be able to work on site during assigned clinical hours
- Physical Requirements:
- Sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and carry, push or pull up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly in person and on the telephone.
